The fourth international Green Aruba conference “OUR ROAD TO 2020” will be held in Aruba in October 2013. This year the Green Aruba conference will be a partnership with the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF), the region’s largest gathering of regional and international energy stakeholders. The Green Aruba conference and CREF will be held from October 9-11, 2013.
The Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum and Green Aruba will play an essential role in introducing Aruba to investors and stimulate the commitment to the green island economy. CREF 2013 will help open doors to international partners and investors who will play an important role in the transition to an economy based on sustainable energy.
In 2012, the Government of Aruba announced the partnership with Sir Richard Branson’s Carbon War Room to reduce Aruba’s carbon footprint. Aruba is committed to increase its sustainability by using the sun and wind as the source of energy. 15% of Aruba’s energy is already coming from renewable sources. By 2020 Aruba will be the leading example for the use of renewable energy.
The Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum is exclusively focused on the development of renewable forms of energy in the Caribbean. CREF is hosted in partnership with IDB, OAS, OPIC, Caricom and other agencies working in the region. The Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum 2012 took place in Puerto Rico and 400 delegates from 40 countries attended this forum.
During upcomming the conference, participants will have the opportunity to meet high-ranking government officials and senior utility executives, forge new relationships with decision makers and develop business opportunities.
Businesses that are active in the field of renewable energy and looking for an interesting export gateway will find interesting opportunities in the free zone of Aruba. The free zone offers attractive benefits for companies wishing to set up their regional showcase on the island. Companies active in sales, services, research and development are also welcome to explore their opportunities.
The Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum CREF and Green Aruba 2013 will take place at the Westin Resort & Casino, from October 9-11, 2013. For more information please visit the CREF or Green Aruba website.
