Last week, Thursday, March 13, Free Zone Aruba visited the offices of the Aruba Stevedoring Company (Astec). The visit was primarily to gather valuable information on the project in Barcadera.
Astec is one of the companies involved in the move of the Oranjestad commercial port to Barcadera.
Mr. Mike de L’isle, director of Astec made an interesting presentation of the project. This port development is being carried out in a partnership between the Aruba Ports Authority (APA) and Astec, and will offer state-of-the art facilities for receiving all types of ships and cargo. The Barcadera Free Zone is located adjacent to the new harbor and will offer all types of facilities to internationally operating companies wanting to make use of Aruba as a logistics hub.
Free Zone Aruba will be in constant communication with representatives of Astec and APA in order to remain abreast of the progress of the move of the commercial port to the Barcadera area.
Free Zone Aruba thanks Mr. de L’isle for his time, ample explanation and his response to all the questions which arose during the meeting.
