Two years ago, the Aruba Happy Flow Pilot project was launched at Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport. Aruba was the first airport in the world to provide a 100% self-service passenger experience with the use of biometrics as a key identifier. Happy Flow is the first step towards the possible realization of European pre-clearance at Aruba’s airport.
Last week, the results of the first phase of the roadmap EU-preclearance were presented. The CEO of Aruba Airport Mr. James Fazio is very satisfied with the results of the two years’ pilot project. The project has been completed successfully. The Happy Flow proved to be a flexible and future proof system in the field of access control, end-to-end monitoring and identity management.
Happy Flow is an award-winning project that combines the public process of border control with private passenger process at the airport. It is a unique and innovative system where passenger privacy is guaranteed.
Happy Flow delivered ground-breaking results in passenger-handling operations. The innovative Happy Flow concept has put Aruba’s Airport on the map as an industry reference point. The results of the Happy Flow Project revealed tremendous opportunities for the air travel industry.
The Aruba Happy Flow project is the successful result of a collaboration between the Government of Aruba, the Government of the Netherlands, Aruba Airport Authority, Schiphol Group, KLM and the Portuguese company, Vision-Box.
