Last weekend, Aruba hosted the first edition of the Electric Festival. This electronic music conference and event was organized by different (international) organizations such as; DJ Chuckie/Dirty Dutch, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), ID&T, I love Muzika.
The Electric Festival is more than a festival; it is also a showcase for exhibitions, events, workshops, conferences and parties. The 3 day dance event was a preview for the upcoming editions. The next big event is planned for the summer of 2014.
Aruba will become one of the leading EDM (Electric Dance Music) destinations in the Latin American and Caribbean region. 6000 tickets were sold for the first evening. There seems to be a huge potential for electric music in the region.
ADE director Richard Zijlma is enthusiastic about the organization of the festival. “Aruba offers many opportunities as a link between the Netherlands and the Americas. Latin America is a growing market for dance. With Aruba, we have a great platform to bring attention to the Dutch artists abroad”.
Aruba resident Chuckie is very proud to bring ADE to the Electric Festival. “It is an honor to work together with ADE. They receive many offers from all over the world and they chose for me. ADE overseas is a stayer”.
Many visitors from Colombia, Curacao, Venezuela, United States, Netherlands, Canada, etc. came to Aruba for this event.
